Knowledge sourcing, securing and provision

Objective
Impact delivers knowledge and expertise in the area of psychosocial care in case of disasters.
This knowledge and expertise are needed for preparing content and organisation of psychosocial care. There is a clear need for a Knowledge Centre gathering, storing and unlocking the accumulated knowledge, covering all relevant areas.

Impact gathers knowledge based on questions from the field and structures the relevant knowledge areas.
Impact stores knowledge in hard copy format, digital knowledge banks and the specialised library of the knowledge Centre.

Impact unlocks the knowledge via its website, knowledge bank, fact sheets, presentations and workshops as well as the online newsletter that is distributed to approximately 1500 recipients 4 times a year.

Impacts role:

  • Staying current with relevant academic literature, protocols and guidelines, gathering best practices and lessons learned.
  • Consulting victims of all disasters in the Netherlands
  • Maintaining digital and hard-copy archives in the area of psychosocial care in case of disasters. These archives consist of relevant academic literature, protocols and guidelines, information pamphlets and brochures
  • Gathering knowledge stored in individuals minds
  • Unlocking knowledge for professionals, policy makers and administrators
  • Providing presentations, including data and tools, like presentations on the Multidisciplinary Guideline Early interventions
  • Distributing knowledge via the Media
  • Publishing of accumulated knowledge in clustered and edited format
  • Gathering European and International based knowledge for the Netherlands field by participating in European and international congresses
