OPSIC reviews existing guidelines and best practice-studies for psychosocial support in crisis in order to match methods and tools to all relevant target groups, types and phases of emergencies, and to develop an IT based system – an Operational Guidance System (OGS) – which will function as a go-to-point for all tools needed to plan, conduct and evaluate a psychosocial support intervention.

The integrated operational guidance system (OGS) developed in OPSIC will bridge the current gap between existing guidelines and operational practice in psychosocial support in crisis management while focusing on prevention, preparedness, response and recovery and relating these to all target groups as well as all stages of both natural and man-made disasters.

The OPSIC project is funded by the European Union Seventh Framework programme. The project runs from February 2013 to January 2016.
